When talking about scaling an e-commerce, you really have to consider what type of e-commerce it is and what exactly it wants.
- Single-product: requires more traffic to generate more sales, and subsequently reinvesting everything into Ads and products.
- Catalog: sustains a more complex scaling by first filling the vertical and its corresponding accessories or checkout upsells. Subsequently, new hero products are tested to sustain the new line.
But scaling does not mean exactly that, because sales or money might not be your problem. Scaling in the warehouse or in returns means you are capable of handling a larger volume of orders than before.
The biggest improvements are obtained when 3 operators do the work of 5 or when a software clears hours of work. An understanding of what the e-commerce road is and an organized approach allow for stable scaling.
Whats your situation?
